I've been natural for 6 years and it's always nice to look back at my progression pictures when I get a blow out. I must say, I'm pleased with how wonderful my results have been. Let's be clear though. I'm not in agreement that you can't have healthy hair with relaxers because I can show pictures where my hair was equally as thick and equally as long with a relaxer. I just preferred shoulder length or shorter hair if I have to wear it straightened all the time, but I prefer the versatility of being natural. It's been a wonderful journey thus far. If it wasn't for my usual "bun life" and current protective styles, I'd be running to get it cut for sure.
As always, I have to give all my love to my sister, @camie_96 who is the reason my hair gets straightened, trimmed, colored, etc on the regular. She's my primary stylist and without her I think I'd just learn to do more myself or cut all my hair off. She keeps my hair healthy and laid. Unlike a lot of stylists she has what I call "growing hands" and "healing hands" that can come in on the most damaged and unhealthy hair and revert it to good health. She's a lifesaver. Her silk presses are so nicely done til everyone always think I have a relaxer when it's straight, yet it beautifully reverts back to curly when I wash it.
If you're ever in the New Orleans area and need a stylist be sure to look her up at Mane Artistry on Veterans in Kenner. Tell her that I sent you.
As my sister always says when her clients leave her chair, "Mo' hair! Mo' hair!"
Peace and blessings!
XOXO
