Tonight I got to experience a new restaurant called Morrow's on St Claude that's been getting some buzz on social media. The restaurant is the creation of the mother of author and seemingly overnight sensation of the city, Larry Morrow. The menu has a broad selection of items including some of an Asian fusion variety. The ambiance of the restaurant was really nice. Easy street parking and since we went during happy hour around 5, the crowd hadn't flooded in yet. We had the chargrilled oysters for an appetizer and the watermelon margarita was the drink of choice for the night. It was very refreshing. While Acme has the best oysters in the city in my opinion, this place did have a pretty good chargrilled oyster. My entre was the Bayou Redfish which was redfish covered with ettouffee and a side of potato salad and vegetables. I wasn't a fan of the potato salad but the rest was very good and well seasoned. For dessert I had the Hawaiian bread pudding with ice cream and it was also very very good. Overrall it was a great experience. The restaurant was cute and quaint. The staff was nice. Service was a little slow but we didn't mind it. It's always great when you have dinner and a few drinks with good conversation with a good friend. I can't wait to go back to try another dish.
