Level Up

 No automatic alt text available.

If you don’t know something and everyone around you is equally as out of the known or clueless on the topic then how can you grow if you don’t step out of the circle? Surround yourself with a mixed group of people who force you to grow and challenge you to be the best you that levels up daily. If they aren’t watering your garden then what are they around for? If you don’t know something then ask, google it, read a book about it, etc. That’s the only way you can learn, but if you assume you’re always correct and continue to live in your box then you limit the ability to flourish. You ultimately lose out on opportunities all the way around. For many years I was called “white girl” growing up due to my interests, the way I talk, my strive towards academic success, etc. Call me what you want, but I’m very well rounded and open to the word “try” in my life. I can have a convo with any person of any background that’s appropriate for the occasion. Call it code switching or whatever, but I couldn’t get to where I’m at standing where I used to be. Complacency is a deadly place to be and a lot of people get comfortable in it and use it as an excuse. With as much technology as we have there is really no reason why you should go too long not knowing something. Make a conscious effort to learn something new everyday, share it with someone, and have conversations that involve more than just fashion, celebrities, gossip, get rich schemes and material things. You’ll find yourself outgrowing the box you once lived in. Everyone needs a little watering... #whatdoesyourgardengrow #jewelsofknowledge #levelup
