The Sunday before last, Power returned!!! I'm sure the crowd went wild Sunday because majority of the women and even men that I know were all glued to their TVs silently chanting "Free Ghost". I can't believe that we've been waiting since September for Power to return. But we do this every year! So here we are at another season... and I still am #teamAngiemustgo. I'm figuring that either Tasha will kill her, or it will be a dramatic move for Ghost to kill her just as Tommy had to kill the red head. Either way it goes, I'm hoping they allow Keisha to give her one of those old high school "wait til we get off the bus" ass whoopings before she dies. It was also nice to see the last work of the late Charlie Murphy on this season. I also can't believe how incredibly naive Ghost's son Tariq is, but I guess he gets it from his father. Tasha is by far the most irresponsible stay at home mom. She doesn't realize he's missing until nightfall. She doesn't even pick these kids up from school, as if she has something else better to do. This is that one show that it almost feels like my whole year depends on the next season and certainly qualifies as my favorite show. I can't wait to see how this season will play out.
I'm also excited that Queen Sugar has returned, Being Mary Jane will be returning in a few weeks and so will HBO's Insecure. Nothing but black folk's magic sprinkled on 4 different networks (Starz, OWN, BET and HBO) this season. I couldn't be more happy to be glued in front of my TV.
