Studies show that 80% of women are wearing the wrong bra size. What does this have to do with you? Well it depends on how you look a this one... You could be complaining that you are only an A or B cup and really you are a C. Talk about a confidence boost. Also, you could do us all a favor and stop having that embarrassing moment when one boob pops out of your bra and/or shirt in mid conversation.
So for years I was in denial and avoidance of this very topic. I was convinced that I was a 34 B no matter what. In 2008-2009 my mother had had enough. She had been telling me that I was in denial and she would make me get sized, but knowing myself and my sarcasm, I said a smart remark and brushed it off. This went well until one day, while visiting from Chicago, she tricked me. She, my sister and I went for a trip to the mall, and she walked me into the intimates section in Dillard's and made me face my truths. To my surprise and to her delight, I was wearing the wrong size bra. I was like, "Wait, what?" I was in disbelief and a bit embarrassed. She and a friend of mine had been telling me this for years, and I would defensively say, "I'm just a full B, that's all." I hadn't gotten truly sized for a bra probably not since I was a child and in my training bra transition to my first real bra and Mervyn's department store was still open. I was long overdue.
So in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month... get your mammogram, do your self breast examination and get your true bra size. Bodies change and with weight gain or loss, you may not be who you think you are.

FYI: Size does vary with the type of bra you wear. For example, you may need a bigger bra if it's a demi cup opposed to when you wear a full coverage one.
