Flirty Thirty

As you may know, this year I made 30.  So what has changed? Not much. I'm a year older and a year better by the grace of God. I brought in my birthday with several trips. One was a cruise to Cozumel and Progresso and the other was a flight to Miami. I also started taking swimming classes which has been quite interesting to say the least, and I went to Essence Music Festival for the first time. There's a first time for everything and I felt like what better time to learn to swim and do Essence than now.

When they walk through your picture like they don't see you standing there waiting to take your pic... Our faces are priceless... Lol.

We got to make it to Versailles. According to many websites and blogs, this was the place to be for authentic Cuban food. Overall the food was good but for me, the best thing was the pitcher of red sangria that we had... We started the celebration off early at like 11 am.

What's a trip to Miami w/o a trip to Wet Willie's? Probably still a big deal. I still have yet to understand what the hype is about. The daiquiris were ok but of course New Orleans has them beat in that area.

We decided to take a brief walk on the beach. It was hot as hell and neither of use were THAT interested in being beach bums and soaking up the sun.

When he gets of watching you struggle with your purse or what he calls your luggage... Take control of the situation. Lol. They buy you the purse and then talk about how you utilize it. Lol.

I got to visit Dash! My trip is complete! Lol. Impression: Nice quality clothing but waaaaay overprice.
Our beautiful private boutique hotel. Private access with pass-code locks on the gates and doors.

So this next restaurant has a fun story behind it. I let him pic the restaurant and decided to just play the passenger. I didn't check the map or anything. Didn't ask any questions. We end up in the car with his GPS leading us... only to end up literally at the restaurant that's parking lot was literally on side of where our car was originally parked by the hotel. Lol. I nearly died of laughter. I suppose we all have a blonde moment. So we parked back in our spot and walked to the restaurant.

New age means new hair color. The highlights were increased at a later date.

This freaking place was awesome. It was called Yardbird Southern Table & Bar. Although brunch cost us like $113, it was so worth it.

The bloopers are the best...

 Just pass me a draaaaank!

We made it to take a celebrity home boat cruise.

I pretty fascinated with how fresh my strawberry and pina colada daiquiri was and this little ridiculously strong rum shot that was in it.
My goofiness sometimes deserves that look... Lol.

When the drizzles turn in to a down pour and your hair isn't quite how it was this morning. Re-twist out gone to waste.

I got to take pictures with parrots. I was pretty excited considering I was a bit terrified.

So much for wearing my hair all big to bring in my birthday. I had to settle for my "bun bun". It's ok because I'm still cute.

I had been wanting to try this place, SugarCane, pretty bad after reading the reviews. It was just ok. I mean the ambiance was nice and I have to give the staff props for relocating our table to make us more comfortable because she said we looked uncomfortable squished between two other tables.

My birthday morning, we flew back but before I left I had brunch with a friend.

So great to see Marilyn. I hadn't seen her since my last time in Miami when I was there for training for my job.
So long Miami... it's been real.

And of course I came home to gifts and cake cake cake cake cake!!!

And I got 4 other cakes from work! :)
