Lil Wayne vs The Legacy of Emmett Till

I think that anyone who knows me know that I have a policy where I don't tolerate ignorance and foolishness. I've followed the story that has surfaced about Lil Wayne basically comparing the beating, torture and murder of Emmett Till to sexual relations with a woman. There is a definitive point where some things should not be said or even thought of for that matter. Below I've posted the letter that the Till family has sent to Mr. Carter. I sincerely hope he responds. There is absolutely no excuse that he can possibly give but an apology would and removal of the song from the airways is warranted. Just reading this letter brings me to tears. It's things like this that make me question the future of my race and young people and what defines good music. It further confirms that some people lack respect and common sense. You are not where you are and who you are based on your own efforts and endeavors. Someone somewhere had to fight, work hard and even die to pave the way for your freedom. I just can't imagine how this family may feel.

Please feel free to read the letter in it's entirety at the following link: http://www.vibe.com/article/vibe-exclusive-open-letter-family-emmett-till-lil-wayne
