A Pink Tribute

Within the past few years my mom had a high affinity for the color pink. She had purchased bathrobes and random other things only in pink. My theory is that it had secretly become her favorite color but it also empowered her with the sense of femininity. It's no surprise that our house goes above and beyond with Christmas decor. Since I was a small child my mom would basically collect Christas decore. She'd do everything from planning a color scheme, making wreaths, painting white Santa Clauses black, etc. You name it and we did it. I've always enjoyed helping her put up the decoration. Last year was reallly odd since she couldn't help me do it. My brother and sister surprised her with a pre-lit white tree that she had been talking about for years. The look of "awe" on her face as tears streamed down her cheeks was priceless. This year my sister and I decided we'd decorate the tree in hot pink and silver. I know that pink is also the color for breast cancer awareness which is an added bonus. I know it's not much to some people but it means the world to us to pay a tribute to the most beautiful woman we ever met. I cried non-stop while putting up her decoration all alone. With the help of a friend I made it through.

If you are reading this and still have your significant loved ones in your life, realize how blessed you are. Embrace every moment of this holiday season because you certainly never know when it may be the last.

Merry Christmas mom! I know you are smiling down from heaven and probably crying in awe just as you were last year. Love you! :')
