The movie is out and my review is in. I went to see it on Saturday. For starters, The Rave theater that we went to in L.A. had forgotten to turn off the lights during our viewing. After about 20 minutes in, they rewinded the movie, turned the lights off and everyone applauded. My thoughts are that someone must have went up front and raised hell, telling them that they better rewind that movie. Lol. That was seriously priceless. When a crowd laughs at scenes twice, then you know that you have a good movie on your hands. My expectations for this movie were initially low due to such a star studded cast. Let's face it, most movies with so many celebs, just don't make it. Eventually, my expectations heightened after reading so many good reviews on Twitter and other sites. I must admit... the movie was bomb. I'm a sucker for romance, but the romance aspect isn't my favorite part of this movie. The comedy, provided by none other than actor/comedian Kevin Hart was superb. He's one of my favorite comedians and he's definitely making his presence known. The movie is filled with an attractive star studded cast, including Gabrielle Union, Morris Chestnut, Tika Sumpter, Kelly Rowland, Meagan Good, Romany Maico, Regina Hall, Chris Brown, La La Anthony, Terrance J., Taraji P. Henson, Michael Ealy, Steve Harvey, Bruce Bruce, and who would have thought that Wendy Williams was apart of the scheme. I'm actually surprised that she didn't tell on herself on her recently aired show where she interviews the cast. I've read the book in the past, not to gain any insider in the male psyche but just to see what all the hype was all about. I wasn't that impressed with the book, but it made a decent topic and concept for a movie. My favorite relationship of them all was obviously Michael Ealy and Taraji P. Henson. They are attractive as individuals, but when you put them together on one screen it's like we all could see the sparks and fireworks. I know it's kind of early in the year to proclaim this... but Think Like a Man may very well be my favorite movie of the year. I was so elated to hear that it was number one in the box office for it's opening weekend and it surpassed Hunger Games. The movie is filled with good laughs, eye candy and an overall good time. So if you haven't seen it yet, go this weekend!!
