For months now my friend keeps telling me that I need to go to Phill's. I thought he was talking about Philly's on Severn in Metairie but I was in for a surprise last week. Philly's Cafe is located on Claiborne by the site of the Magnolia Projects. Just across the parking lot from Wal-Mart and a church in which I visited at as a teen for my uncle's funeral.
The decor and actual location may not be much to brag about but the food!! Omg! I trusted him to not fail my taste buds with foolishness and we got a Hawaiian Chicken and Shrimp sandwich. Most Hawaiian food have a sweet taste but this one was a little different. It's hard to put the taste into words but this magical sauce mixed with grilled chicken, shrimp, onions, bell peppers and mushrooms was simply amazing. I didn't even look at the rest of the menu. Lol. I don't know how soon I'll be back at this establishment but I know it's bound to happen sooner rather than later.
