The Weekend Baby

I must say that my weekend has gotten off to a fabulous start. :) Last night I went to a pole dancing workshop with one of my friends in Birmingham. We learned a cute little routine to Beyonce's "Run the World". We went to a night spot named Merienda which was quite possibly one of the funniest places I've ever been to. It was complete with amateur singers, particularly a guy who had a nice voice but had the most random "freak nasty" moves (as I like to call it). He sung everything from Maxwell to Joe to Next and random other male artists. Wasn't my idea of going out but was entertainment nonetheless. We were supposed to get up this morning to go go either Ab, Zumba or Belly Dancing class. I guess we were just more tired than we expected so we slept in, had a late breakfast and headed out to the movies to see Kevin Hart: Laugh at My Pain. My mom always talks about the need for a pretty good laugh and I guess I was truly in need. Kevin Hart is quite possibly one of the best comedians out right now. The movie was hilarious but the skit at the end could have been left out. We wrapped the day up with me buying a pair of flat over the knee boots from DSW and dinner at Carrabba's. I had never eaten at this place but was supposed to go years ago in Baton Rouge since New Orleans doesn't have one. The food was amazing from start to finish and I imagine that I'd go back. we ordered crab cakes as the appetizer. I had a caesar salad and the lobster, scallop, and shrimp stuffed pasta. It was great. Although I have a board exam on Thursday that I should be focused on, I don't regret the last 24-30 hours at all. I had a great time with great company and now it's time to focus on the task at hand. Despite this, I'm looking forward to Part 2 of our workshop next Friday and a weekend getaway to Atlanta. :-)
