Food Venture: Between: Boutique Cafe and Lounge

I tried the cutest restaurant I think I've ever been to. It's called Between: Boutique Cafe and Lounge. It's located at 1324 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL. I bought a Groupon deal for this place and decided that this would be the perfect Saturday night date spot for me and my beau.

The place was this cozy little spot with red and purple furniture. Sofas were sectioned off by curtains. The deal was for a 4 course Peruvian Prix Fix Meal. One meal included (1) grilled veal skewers, (2) potato bites festooned in key lime, jalapeno, smoked salmon and avocado confit, and (3) sudado-- broiled tilapia in a homade chica de hora, tomato, onion served with steamed rice. The other meal, in which I had, included (1) quinoa-crusted chicken salad, (2) tallarin saltado-- spicy pasta with sauteed chicken, and (3) citrusy ceviche with tilapia, Andean corn, and sweat potatoes. This wonderful meal was topped off with Grand Marnier french toast. Drinks included guavaritas in which the bartender/waiter was nice enough to even do the non-alcoholic version.

When we entered at about 9pm, we were the only dinners there. At about 11pm, a DJ sat up and started to play music. At that point the place filled with about 20 people. Overall the experience was great. Our waiter was superb and even offered ways to enjoy our meal, like adding rice to the juice that's left over in ceviche. The only negative thing I have to say is that at about 12:30am, we were asked by another server to move to a section by the window to accommodate someone who had a larger party and reserved that area. We were offered a free drink if we moved. I tried to deal with it but the other area wasn't as comfortable and the ambiance was completely different.
