Zumba anyone?

http://zumbaforu.com/
So I kept my word, I attended Zumba on Friday at school. Turns up I'm in love with this style of workout. Anyone who knows me, I mean really knows me, knows that I love dancing. If the music is good, you can't keep me off the floor. Zumba is a nice twist of salsa, raggae, hip hop and other international blends of music. It's a lot of chest popping, hip swaying and shaking what ya mama gave ya to the latest beats. I must admit that I wasn't prepared to sweat so much in one hour. Lol. The sweat didn't even matter b/c I was having fun. So much fun til I went to a Zumba class up north in Logan Square the next morning. I decided to embark upon one of those "Groupon Now" offers and attend a $12 Zumba class with Chicago Women's Fitness Camp. I arrived there at like 8am although the class didn't start until 10am. It wasn't that I was being too ambitious, but the freaking Groupon said to be there between 6am-9:30am to ensure a spot in the class. It appears that the ladies over the program were unaware of this and thought I was crazy. Lol. The Zumba class was held in a Mansion that seems to be a good venue for weddings, receptions, banquets, etc. The class was very fun with a more broad age group than my school's class. I did notice that the instructor wasn't as good of a dancer as the one at my school, but her workout seemed more intense. It's a day later and I'm definitely feeling it. The funny part is that most of the participants in both of the classes I attended could not dance. I mean, they really had no sense of rhythm or sex appeal at all, but it didn't matter. Everyone was there with the same purpose. As long as you have a good instructor, it doesn't matter how uncoordinated your group is. Lol.

So since I think Zumba may be my new addiction, I went on Living Social and found another deal for Chicago Women's Fitness Camp. It included 10 classes for just $20. You can't beat that! Those classes include cardio dance, yoga, zumba and kickboxing. I figured since I'm already here all summer, I might as well have a good time. :) If you are in the Chicagoland area, the deal ends in 9 hours so log on now and get it while you can. If you are elsewhere and haven't tried Zumba, you should give it a try. I haven't spoken with a person yet who dislikes it. Other options include the Zumba game available on Wii and XBox Kinect or the DVDs available at www.zumba.com.
