The best thing about summer as a female is that we finally get the opportunity to pull out those sexy sandals and open toe shoes and show off some of the most brightest and vibrant shades of nail polish.
I understand that O.P.I. and Essie are supposed to be the best polishes out there but sometimes I just can't fathom paying $10 for a bottle of nail polish. Besides, I'm not always excited about the shades that they offer. I personally have become a fan of Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear polish, which is usually about $2/bottle. This polish lasts just as long as my O.P.I. and Essie polishes and looks just as good.
Every week or so I find myself excitedly walking through Target hoping they've added a color that I don't have. Lol. Last week I picked up on "Pink Blink" and am loving it. The color actually isn't as soft of a pink in person.
Today I made my way back to Target to pick up other things but couldn't resist the beauty aisles. This time I bought Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure polish which was about $6. I just had to have this "Malt" color. I also liked "Folly" by Sinful Colors which is about $2/bottle. It's actually more of a watermelon pink. These pictures just really aren't doing these polishes justice.
I literally change nail polish almost as often as I change shoes or jewelry. Certain polishes are best for certain outfits and some are just meant for fun. I find that some men [well at least mine :)] love it when a woman is enthused with her nail care and changes the colors up. So get those feet out of hiding, go get a professional manicure and pedicure if you need it or do your own if you have the tools, and rock your fav colors for the summer. If you are into doing your own pedi, then be sure to grab a Ped Egg from Sally's Beauty Supply for about $10 or even some of the local Asian markets sell them for only like $4. This thing is a life saver for dead, devitalized skin and calluses on soles of your feet. It's a proven factor that when you take care of yourself or specifically when a woman dolls up she feels better all over with a new profound energy. Note to my male readers: women also take pride when their men take care of themselves too. I don't know who started this misconception that getting a mani-pedi is "gay" or for females. They are great for EVERYONE. The late comedian Bernie Mac admitted to getting his done every week. The next time your girl is getting her nails done, make it a double date and go with her. :)
