How can I start a blog w/o telling you a little bit about myself? Easily...obviously. Lol.

I was born and raised in Kenner, LA which is right outside of New Orleans. (Yeah, yeah, yeah... I experienced Katrina. We were fortunate enough to evacuate the day before and yes our home suffered some damage. Just thought I'd address that since that's always the first question everyone has for me. Lol.)

So what the heck is this Southern belle doing in Chicago? Well, I moved to Chicago about 3 years ago to attend school. Ultimately, while doing so, I ended up on this spiritual maturity and self improvement journey.  I guess everything happens for a reason. Lord knows I didn't want to come to Chicago, but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. My idea is that sometimes God has to separate you from all the clutter in your life in order to specifically work on you. And He's done a lot of working on me..


So here I am with just one year of school left, packing to move the bulk of my junk back down South so I can start externships, and resume some form of a normal life. It's crazy how trying to educate yourself becomes so time consuming and consumes your entire life. You forget what you like to do for fun and ultimately have to redefine yourself. So this blog... It's a part of me redefining myself and re-discovering what I enjoy the most. :)
