Hair Crush: Jas'ColoredCurls

There are thousands of prominent naturalistas across social media and the YouTube world. I'm not a fan of all. Some have hair that's too "good", for lack of better wording, so of course their hair will always turn out different from mine. Changing my hair texture to that kind of hair is something that I literally can not achieve so why waste my time dreaming about this kind of hair. Some are just awful, and I can't understand their level of growing popularity. The misconception is that with natural hair, anyone can do it themselves. Unfortunately this doesn't hold true. Some people need a stylist or a friend's help. A few months ago the major hair IG pages started posting Jas'ColoredCurls because of her beautiful work on twist and curl styles. She also was daring enough to do straw curls on her hair. I haven't had straw curls in almost 18 years. I seriously think the last time was on Sept 28, 1999, the day before my sister delivered my nephew and she felt generous enough to do my hair before she went in to be induced. Since then she's avoided that or any other small roller style on my head due to how long it takes to roll, how long it takes to dry and the fact that I sleep awfully. While to some degree Jas'ColoredCurls hair seems thinner than mine with a looser curl pattern, her results are very full and thick. I've done one twist and curl style inspired by her but plan to buy the grey perm rods and see how that comes out as well.
