Food Venture: Legacy Kitchen

Legacy Kitchen is a sweet little eatery located in Metairie, LA. It's location is interesting to me because it used to be a Shoney's Restaurant. The ambiance is very nice and with the view of the kitchen from the bar, you would almost forget that this place was ever a Shoney's. I used to go to this place a lot about a year or two ago but for some reason fell off. I recently made my way back there and was delighted with my experience. The loaded duck nachos were to die for. I'm a huge fan of duck and nachos are my new "fat girl daily craving". I'm not a huge fan of beans but in this case the beans were a nice addition. The nachos also had cheddar, pepper jack, pepper jelly, and jalepeno-poblano relish. It was a great started dish. For my entree, I had the Gulf Fish St Charles, which included asparagus, baby bello, garlic herb butter, and crawfish cornbread casserole. The dish is one of my faves. The crawfish cornbread casserole is one of the main reasons why I always return to this place. This restaurant never fails me and will always be a nice place to pop in at every now and then for me.
