To Grow Old as One...

Do you ever wonder who you will grow old with? Who you will laugh with until you can't any more? Who will be your best friend until the end? Who will love you unconditionally regardless of where life takes you? Who will you love unconditionally until the end?

I don't mean to people watch, but when I  dine alone I sometimes find contentment in watching people interact with one another. It's admirable to see positive interactions between an elderly couple... She in her wheelchair and he with his cane... They dine together, laugh together, talk and reminisce. It just makes me wonder where I'll be and who will be there at that point in my life. Working with the elderly, many tell me to "don't grow old". Quite honestly I imagine health issues can make being elderly miserable but the blessing behind being allowed more time to get your heart and life right or experience life is bound to be in some way priceless. There are some young people that experience worse illnesses that just mere age could offer but yet they wish to live to be old. Growing old is one thing, but I hope to grow old, basking in peace, good health, happiness and love with a companion. Love doesn't have an expiration date.
