The Longest Blog- 3 month recap

Since the last 3 months of my life have been on blog hault, it's only fair that I fill you in just a little bit. For starters the week of my mom's service I decided to highlight my hair. This is my first time dying my completely virgin hair. I've worn dyed hair of some sort from 2003 to 2010. Once I gave up relaxers I gave up dye too. My sister straightened this beast of a head of hair that I have and gave me some brown highlights. They are very subtle and as I discussed with her yesterday, I'd like to go even lighter soon. That same week I picked my hair out into a true 70s fro and rocked my fist pick with no cares in the world. Don't hate on the struggle.

Color perfection
I prefer the cap over foil method. Always have and always will.

Following the services here, my cousins wanted to hang out and we wanted to get our mind off of things. So we went on Bourbon, had some drinks, some burgers from Krystal's and rode the electronic bull. That serves as one check mark on the bucket list.

Most of the 1st cousins

We found out exactly how many people can be squeezed onto an elevator.

I helped AMC celebrate his bday despite everything I had going on. A walk on Royal Street, lunch at my fav place (Cochon on Tchopatoulas), dinner at Market Cafe and a ride on the street car served as another check mark on my bucket list. Yes, I'm from N.O. area and have never rode a street car for anything besides getting to Zulu Ball in 2008. Sue me! Lol.
Gotta love scarf weather.

Fried boudin with pickled peppers

Chicken salad

Eggplant and shrimp casserole

No 100% sure of what this was but I believe it was brisket with yams

Royal Street

ONLY IN NEW ORLEANS. She's literally holding him down.

Being silly while drinking hot chocolate at Cafe Du Monde.

Some people hold a special place in my heart for coming from far and near to be there when I need them. Much appreciated.

Steet car riding
Market Cafe here we come!

I've always wanted to eat here since it's right in the middle of the French Market. Loved the band and the food.

Adult beverage!

Side Salad

Seafood gumbo

Crawfish beignets-  pretty good. I wasn't crazy about the sauce though. These were a cool version but Katie's on Iberville is far better.
Although I've attended a Saints game before, I finally got to have seats at one. I know that sounds odd but no need for me to explain. I attended the Saints vs. Falcons game at the Superdome with my sister and cousin. We won and we had a good time second lining and partying it up in the streets. Gotta love my city!
Feeling these beautiful bows I found.

Showing those pearly whites.

We had pretty decent seats!

Love this picture. The guys behind us kept calling us TLC. LOL.

Who Dat Nation!!

It's apparent to me more now than ever that if you give me a few drinks (Ciroc in particular), some good friends and that "beat", I'll be dancing all over the place. For Bayou Classic weekend, my friends and I hit up Whiskey Blue which is the bar in the W hotel and Harrah's Casino's Masquerade room. Let's just say that the night ended with me dancing on stage and posing on a grand piano in Canal Place... Yeah... I was feeling that beat! Lol.

Getting warmed up at the W.

Love this one!

Muah!!

One of my faves!

We stopped and asked the security guard who fussed at us telling us to get off the piano to take our pic. He's a champ for doing it. Lol.

This picture says a lot. We quickly took this as security screamed, "Get off the piano!"

I attended a birthday party at the Hookah Cafe on Decateur. Years ago I loved the Hookah Cafe that was on Frenchman St. The new Hookah is a nightmare waiting to happen. I love the people I went with but the smell of weed and 21- year olds running around dancing on each other half naked is not my idea of fun. Needless to say, I was hot in my red and black.
