Are shoes just meant for walking?

My sister has always said, "You can tell a lot about a man by the shoes he wears." I have always laughed at her, thinking that notion was the silliest thing I've ever heard, but as I've grown, I've begin to think that maybe her theory has some validity.

So let's break this down...

If a man's shoes look extra worn out or "talking at the toes" as my sisters says, then either he's doing a lot of walking and perhaps doesn't have a car or he is too cheap to buy a new pair. Ladies, we all know the perils of dating a cheap man. She also says that a man whose laces are extremely tight may also squeak when he walks due to being frugal.

The man with the latest pair of Jordan's or sneakers on or who posts them on Facebook and tags all his friends usually reflects a younger man or an athlete. Younger immature men tend to go for the latest trends instead of defining his personal taste. Young men come with games and at this age, who wants to deal with it? Nothing against the man who prefers the comfort of a fresh pair of sneakers, but this could also signify that this man may not want to dress up beyond jeans, a tee, sneakers, and a hat from Hat Shack.

If a man's shoes are dirty, then he may be a little on the under-kept or unclean. Personal appearance isn't everything, but even if you aren't the best dressed, you should at least be clean. The only excuse is if you have a manual labor job.

I know that these things may not apply to any and every man, but it's at least good food for thought or good material for a hilarious conversation. My sister further told me, "You don't dress up a man's feet unless you want him to walk away from you." Lol. So there you have it folks! This is how those grandma myths and old sayings get started. Lol.
