Z Garden

If Mediterranean is what I desire, then Mediterranean is what I shall have. Last week I was sick of leftovers and actually craving one of my Chicago favs... Mediterranean at Zaytune. Of course Zaytune is a local business so I didnt expect to find the same thing but anything close to it was up for grabs. I looked on yelp and found this place called Z Garden, which was about 5 minutes away in Santa Monica. Before you know it I had ordered online and was on my way to pick up my dinner. I must say that the service was a bit terrible considering that I had placed my order 30 minutes prior to my arrival. I never seemed to be acknowledged by the actual cashier. I waited in mine and when it was my turn he answered a phone call and turned his back. Another gentleman had to assist me. My food wasn't ready nor was the order complete. I'm not one to immediately tell off a staff that is prepping my food but I was about 10 seconds from saying something. It seemed a though the patrons before me had a smoother transaction than I did. Normally I try to reason and understand things from the staff's standpoint but considering that the line only included 2 people before me and maybe 2 people were dining in, this was just inexcusable. Needless to say, I brought my food home and it was great. I had a chicken shawarma, the house salad and for dessert, baklava. This definitely hit the spot and I'm glad that it actually was a healthy food option. With only a week and 2 days left in L.A., I don't think Z Garden will be getting any more of my money, but I will explore New Orleans for some good Mediterranean food.

Note: Please forgive my poor pics... I was starving and in a hurry to eat. Lol.
