When Things Go Incredibly Right

Source
In life, do you chose to see the glass as half empty or half full?

Your answer to that question could be the very thing that keeps you from reaching your peak of happiness. What are the chances that things around you are going incredibly right, but because you are pessimistic in your thinking, you find and highlight everything wrong?  I can't speak for others but I can say that I am very guilty of this. Sometimes the biggest obstacle in our lives are ourselves. For myself, that's easy to read but tough to swallow. Stepping out of your own way can sometimes be the hardest thing ever but the most liberating step you could ever take in life. Not being that overprotective parent of yourself seems ridiculously easy but it's just not. We all are scared of failure. I try to view life from what I consider a "realistic" point of view in an effort to be prepared for the worst case scenario. But why prepare for the worst when the best is still an option?

My new focus for 2012, is to look at the brighter side of things... Focus on the grass being just as green on my side as the side that I thought looked a little greener yesterday. Essentially thanking God for where I stand today and working to my fullest potential to make the best of what I have today yet still striving and praying for a better tomorrow.

We are only a week into 2012, but with the week I've had, I can see that I have my work cut out for me. The best form of change starts within...and it starts with God. Be blessed!
