At Last... Sucré

For months or even a year or more I've been wanting to try N.O.'s new addition, Sucré. I always pass the one located by Lakeside mall in Metairie but would always forget to stop by. I decided to go on a venture to the location on Magazine St. since it is within walking distance from The Rum House. Being on Magazine Street made me realize again why I absolutely love that area and dream of living there or on St. Charles St. Sucré is a cute bakery known for their assorted macaroons. I went with the intentions of buying their king cake but apparently that doesn't start until Jan 6. Instead, I was suckered into buying a red velvet mini cake and a strawberry shortcake both at $6 a piece. I also bought 8 macaroons including banana's foster which was my personal favorite, almond, strawberry and chocolate each at $2 a piece. Overall, all of the goodies were great. The red velvet wasn't the best I've ever had but it was exceptionally moist and fresh. Red velvet tends to be hit or miss and it just seemed like this place used a bit too much food coloring. I wanted to try their cupcakes but unfortunately they didn't have any flavors that interested me enough to buy them at $4/cupcake. Although I found Sucré to be a bit pricey... I'll be back (in my Terminator voice). Lol. Sweets this good can not be passed up. The macaroons simply melt in your mouth. Next time I plan to try their gelato or shakes. Mmmmm.... Til we meet again Sucré. Muah!
The packaging is just far too cute for words...
