You've had a rough week. Your job is driving you up the wall. Your relationship isn't just quite where it feels like it should be. Your kids (if you have any) are working on your last nerve. Everything that you can possibly think of that annoys you seems to all happen in one week. My solution for you is to take yourself on what I call the "self" date. I don't mean just any old outing. I mean doll up, go to a descent restaurant, get your table for one and have a full on feast with yourself. Make sure it's complete with cocktails and all. You can complete the night with a movie or some other outing of your choice. You would be amazed at how relaxed you will feel and how you will feel like you reground yourself with sanity in just one night. Lately I've discovered that I've been cheating on myself. I spend a lot of time alone but I'm not fully enjoying it. I spend time chatting with others, glued behind my computer, pretending to study, or glued to the TV. I can't possibly clear my mind with so much media clutter. Yesterday I went on my first self date in a long time and I had a pretty darn good time. I had the endless shrimp at Red Lobster with a caesar salad, lobster mashed potatoes and 2 red passion pina coladas. This may sound crazy to some but we all need a little "me" time every once and awhile. I look forward to my next rendezvous. :) I think my next one will be to a masseuse for an hour massage later this week.
